How Do You Organize Your Tackle?

Featured Replies

How do you guys organize your tackle? Does it stay in the boat or does it come out every time? I have tried the tray method twice and I usually end up with lures all over the deck of the boat and none of my trays stay organized :wall3: I am about to go for round three with my trays; any tips or suggestions on how to keep them all straight?

Put things somewhere in the boat that you know they won't fly out and put the baits that you take off of a rod and put them there and then when you get home or whatever take those baits and put them back where they come from. No need to keep taking your tackle out of your boat unless you keep it outdoors.

I use a invert mini paintball backpack with all me gear inside of it a pocket for frogs/toads pocket for worms pocket for ugly otters pocket for swim baits pocket for lizarrds etc. And so on on so on for hooks weights scale lures and doesn't give me any prob. What so ever on boat or shore walking. Easier to carry then a box. But I say look into it I think you will like it

Tackle organization? What is that? I'm pretty sure I have issues in this area. I've lost stuff for half a season and then, all of a sudden, there it is. I have a bag of fluorocarbon leader material thats been MIA since last November. It could have fallen out of the boat, but I don't think it did. I try to be mindful of where I put stuff away, in different boxes and different bins of the boat, but it is a struggle, and I've been known to space stuff out. Most of the stuff turns up in my shop at some point, the leader material and several other items are still MIA as this is typed. Between trips, I keep most stuff locked up in my fishing truck. Every so often, I clean out my truck, or attempt to. It seldom stays clean. Duh. Maybe I should downsize. Yeah, right.l Anyway, fishing tackle organization is a problem for me.

Fishing from shore i have a tackle box for each kind of fishing.

1. Topwater box #9606

2. Crankbait box #9606

3. Weedless box

4. Larger cranks & pike lures

For a boat i have a boat magnum bag with everything but plastics.

I am very organized because i fish in the dark too. Being organized its easy to pull out lures in the dark.
