Strange Casting Noise?

Hello all,

Recently I took my reel apart (a cardiff 400) and put it back together. I never really took it apart, all i did was pop the one side plate off with the handle in tact to access the spool. It was just 3 screws, and those were the only parts that came off the reel, and they went right back to where they belong. There were no extra parts, but I'm assuming something didnt line up properly when i put the spool back in and put the side plate back on. There is no noise on the retrieve, only on the cast. It is not a hissing noise, but more of a grinding noise i think. If anyone could help me it would be great

    out of im sure tens of thousands of fishing reels the people on this site have used, no one else has had this issue?
