Orra Sx Spinning Reel

Does any one here have one? the wife has been asking for one and im gonna order it this upcoming week with a veritas to match it. Im not sure what size to get its gonna be mostly used for smaller type baits but needs to be able to handle a decent sized fish she seems to have a golden horseshoe when it comes to fishing for sunnies or other small fish and hooking into like a 5lb bass or angry pike even a 30lb carp one time. So I want a reel sized well enough for her smaller hands and be comfortable and still handle the wide range of bait she will throw. I know alot of that will come from the rod though. With every manufacturer sizing there reels different its hard to tell with out having hands on and it will be purchased online as im over seas and there's no BPS or gander mountains in Kuwait. So any input would be nice if you've held one or have one im thinking the 30 series on a ML/MF 6'9" Veritas one piece rod.

one thing to consider about the orra SX is that the standard spool is a shallow spool, so its line capacities are less than similar sized reels. personally i like something in the daiwa 2000/pflueger 30/abu 20 size. a friend of mine has the 30 in the orra s and its a little larger than i would like.

he likes the reel so far, i think he has had it out about a dozen times so far, no problems. he is an abu fan, and the reason he got this reel is because he sent in a cardinal 700 series (model before the soron, which is the model before the orra) for some factory tlc, and instead of fixing what might be wrong with that reel they sent him a brand new orra free of charge (not even shipping) pretty good customer service IMO. he and another guy i know have had that experience a couple times with abu, and it has me looking at an orra sx in the near future, havent been able to find one local to get a feel for it though.

based on your wishes for the wife i would go with the 20 size, use the shallow spool for some braid and the deeper spool for whatever else you wish, or just use the deeper spool for more line capacity for those carp!

I just picked up the Orra S20 and so far its very smooth and casts well. Compared to my old Quantum SS its light, But has a solid feel. I'm liking it a lot!

I would expect the SX to be even better.
