I've allways used the offset type to rig plastics.

BPS Extra Wide Gap Magna

I have not had the chance to use the skip gap much, I bought the hooks to give 'em a go last year and found them to be very productive at keeping plastics in place while skipping 'em under docks and stuff for multiple casts without doing much damage to the baits I was using.

I really want to try some more fishing with these hooks before I can really say, but I like what I have seen so far, they are a little pricey but not outragiously so, at least in the Gama, but that is the only brand I have bought so far.
