Congratulations. You did great!

You are on your way to having many rods and reels.

Always keep this one as it is your first.

Put it to good use.

Great first setup, much better than what alot of people including myself started with. Congratulations!

I agree 100%. Have a couple Originals. Decent sensitivity. Landed my PB largemouth (7 lb plus) on a MH Original. Was able to apply a LOT of pressure on the fish. Had an STX with 40 lb. Sufix Performance braid on it.

Recently purchased 3 Black Max 1600C reels as I have been wanting to try a smaller round reel. Was amazed at how well it casts a 1/4 oz lure. Enough so that I am going to spool my 5001C with 12 lb and give it another try. Bought it years ago when I had never used a baitcaster, didn't know anyone who used a baitcaster, and was unaware of the Web. I expect now I will find it an excellent performer.

EDIT: I am afraid Sam is right. You may very well be on your way to spending a lot more on rods/reels. I fished inexpensive gear my whole life. When I got back into fishing 3 years ago I switched to B/C gear. My first reel was a Fuego on closeout at TW. I now have 3 of them. My B/C reel count comes to 21 with the very possible addition of a Lews (my 1st) to the arsenal in the very near future.
