Hich one do you like better and why

I have never tried the Carbonlite rod but recently picked up a 6'9" MH Veritas with micro guides. I got to use it for the first time today and was very impressed with it. I think either way you would be getting a good rod!!

Honestly, they're both light but the Veritas feels like club compared to the Carbonlite.

They are both great rods, the only thing I dont like abot the BPS is the bulbky handle where the reel sits. You would have to hold it in order to see if it is ok for you.

I agree,I like both but the Veritas is a bit more stiff.But I can feel a bass just breathing on the bait with both rods. But if I had to pick one it would be the Veritas.

Can't go wrong either way. They both balance just about as good any rod, regardless of price. I've had issues with losing guide inserts on the CL ( this has been the case with every pac bay guided rod I own). Some don't like the veritas reel seat. As said above, you probably need to handle them yourself.

I assume you're talking about the micros?

Stasher, yes both times it was a micro rod. BPS returned no questions asked. I work about a mile away so no biggie. Ended up going with the regular guides and have had no issues.

That's what I figured. I've had four of the "standard" models and one of the micro, and I don't see what the big deal is. The micros look cool and are quite a bit lighter than full size ceramic-insert guides, but there's just not enough difference in weight between the already super light "standard" CL guides and the micros to make a difference. They also like to collect algae and crap that would normally flow right thru normal diameter guides. The next one I buy definitely won't have micros.

I went to bps and handled them both yesterday and ended up with the veritas, took it fishing and LOVE it !!! Very sensitive and has great backbone for the price went with a 7'6" mh for another jig rod. Thanks for the feedback guys couldn't be happier

For what it is worth, I have a friend who builds custom rods and he has looked at both carefully and prefers the Carbonlite. He says he just likes the way it is built. I cannot afford his rods and do have five Carbonlites. Three are three years old. No micro guides. I notice that on this year's models they moved the hook keeper.
