I'm pretty new to low profile bait casters so this may not be a problem or anything but i was just wondering. I hooked a 2 1/2 lb largemouth and when i went to set the hook on it, line just came pulling off of it like it was a 15 lb fish i thought it might have just been the drag wasn't set high enough so i set it and it keeps doing it just wondering if anybody has had this problem or knows a solution to it.

What kind of line? Is it slipping on the spool?

It was the drag i just didn't set it high enough. Rookie mistake.

Happens to me all the time to me. Hahaha. Still an rookie from coming back in fishing since 3 years ago. Forgot all the techinques. Glad you figured it out!

Some suggest to set the drag about 2/3 of your line strength, so for a 12lb line, you would set it around 8lb. You can measure the drag by the fish scale.
