Snakehead

Featured Replies

Sorry if this was posted before or asked before.

What lures work on snakeheads? I'm making a trip to Florida soon and was hoping to attempt to catch one of these exotic fish.

Thanks,

Sirbert

Get the Bass Pro soft plastic frogs, I think they are called Horney Toads, they come 5 to a bag for like $4. Get them in black majic. T-Rig them on a 5/0 EWG hook and some (at least) 40# braid. Just cast far along the banks, and work it along the surface, they cant resist them. Best frog Ive ever used.

x2. And make sure you stick'em hard when you set the hook! Their mouths are very boney and that hook needs to get buried

Wow. Thanks y'all for the info. Found out the area where I'm fishing at doesn't have snakeheads. Did catch a few shell crackers and smallmouth.
