Featured Replies

i was looking for a cheap fishfinder for my canoe. there are a bunch of used older ones on ebey for as low as 20$ what should i be looking for?

20$ sounds a little cheap... even new at bass pro i really didnt find there prices to be bad for good looking fishfinders.... what are you looking for in a fishfinder? last i was there it even seemed the DI models have come down a bit or they came out with a few more economy models... i mean 400 500$ DI few bells and whistles included etc new in box etc to me sounds affordable ive spent more on reels and 200 300 gets you probably the best in standard image there is...

the 2000$ ones well im just waiting for them to come out with a model that has a dvd player or satelite tv or something then i split screen fishfinder/movie....

For a used one, you should be looking for one that works and has all the parts. Some older ones don't have parts available any more such as the transducer and power cord.

The Humminbird PiranhaMAX 160 is quite basic and is similar to the discontinued Eagle Cuda 300 in the same price range--but with a lower resolution display. Like most stuff, you get what you pay for.

Any sonar unit is better than none at all.
