Has anyone used the fireline crystal and if so how do you like it and how is the underwater visibility ?

I've used to for a few years now and I like it great. I don't know about under water visibility. I use 14 lb fireline and I always use a 15 or 20 lb fluorocarbon leader, anywhere from 3 feet to a food and a half.

I use it on spinning gear and mostly use tx rigged weightless senko style baits or jerk baits, like a pointer or a rogue. I like how it is so easy to see above the water, when you're giving your senko slack and letting it sink on a slack line, the fire line works just like a strike indicator when you're fly fishing. You almost always have a visual indicator of a strike before you feel anything.

I bought the crystal fire line weeks after it first came out on the market and just replaced that spool this summer, so what, that 3 years or so for a spool of line, maybe 4, I don't remember when it first came out.

Same here, I did the same, Only I just turned it around on the spool last year, I will see how it feels next Spring. I have just switched to the new Fireline Braid, on both baitcasting gear as well as spinning. So far it works great and I like better than the not so round fused line. I never went higher than the same lbs. test with my mono or fluorocarbon leaders, but when using a blood knot to join them to original fireline I never had a breakoff at the fireline, it has always broke on the leader at the knot or slightly up from the rigging knot never at or above the blood knot.

If the braid has this same knot reliability I will be sold. I will say I have become very fond of the Tracer Braid, on a Carolina rig or finesse fishing with other plastics, it is like having a magnifying glass on your line, as it changes color every 29", very easy to detect the slightest movement on a limp line. I will be replacing all my line with the new Braid if I have the knot reliability I had with the original, as it is much smoother and lighter lbs. test for lbs. test. I fish mainly for finicky Walleye and this is a great feature.
