Advice On Howard County, Maryland Bass Fishing

Featured Replies

Does anyone out there know much about Wilde lake? I understand it was just dredged and not sure how it would effect the fishing. What about the other local spots such as centennial.. etc. Nonboater and non driver looking for someone to go fishing with.

Wilde lake is known in howard county for good size crappies in the spring, you can probably land 1-2 lbers in there as I have in the past.

As far as for centennial, you would need a kayak/boat to reach some good spots. You can definately fish from shore, but there are too many bank fisherman there. There are not places you can go if you can't drive, maybe ask a friend/family to drive you? Rocky George got some decent size bass, but need an annual permit to fish there. Other places to consider is Loch Raven, which you can rent a row boat for 30 dollars a day.

My parents work during the week so I am limited to where i can walk most of the time so my options are centennial and wilde lake. Do you know how wilde lake's recent dredging would effect the bass fishing?

Nah, it shouldn't. My co-worker lives right by the lake, and he fished it everyday. He is able to pick up a few, but nothing big.

Thanks. I caught some there last year on senkos but nothing special

Hi evanmeister, I have had some luck at Centennial but all were small mouth. Have not had too much luck at Wilde Lake. Have not been back since the dredging. I also am a shore angler. Always looking for someone to throw a line with. Pm me, maybe we can meet up some time.
