Differences Between Tracker 175 Tx And Nitro Z-6

Featured Replies

I am looking at going to my second boat, upgrade from the first. What are the main differences in these two boats beside the alum vs glass and the engine sizes and cost? I know the glass is supposed to ride a little better, but do they fish any different? Anything i should think about when looking at the two?

wind, tow weight, beam, cost.

if your going to fish tournaments, consider that the z-6 has duel live wells and the 175 tx is going to have one and pretty small one at best. especially if you have a co-angler to.

Just looked it up for ya. 14 gallon compared to a 32 gallon.

i can speak from experence, I've owned a 175TXW and its a great boat but like the other replies said it has a smaller livewell and the wind blows it around more and to me the ride does'nt compare to glass. I now own a Z6 so I know the difference between the two boats the z6 has a larger livewell much bigger front deck and it is a very stable boat it does'nt rock you around when your buddy in the back moves around. and the overall layout of the boat is better it has a lot more storage. and the ride from a glass boat is great. and the 115hp motor on the z6 won't break you up to operate it. go glass you'll be happy.

Thanks Nitro, glad you have experience with both.

I've had both fiberglass and aluminum. They both have their advantages. Unfortunatly I can't afford both. I have a deep v now, more room for the family, but I really miss my bass boat.

why does the Z6 just have a 3 person max limit on it and hold less weight then a 175? I have a four person family and that won't work, i need something to take the family out on. am i stuck getting a Z7 or alum. if i need a 4 person boat?

Because it's a tournament boat, not a leisure boat.

Not actual seats. I mean allowable capacity. Glass are always lower then equivalent alum.

How signifigant is the difference in stability between the 175 and the Z6? I to am considering one or the other in the comming years or one of Tritons boats that fall in the Z6 price range. I currently have a 1980 Hydra Sport 158Vee glass boat but will be looking to upgrade to something with a much larger deck in the next few years. Will I be dissapointed going from glass to the 175 alum as far as stablility goes when fishing with 2 on board? Arent Nitro made by Tracker of vice versa, same people?

Sun Fish If you have been fishing from a glass boat for a long time, I believe you would not be happy with the 175 txw don't get me wrong its a great boat but it does'nt have the stability that a glass boat has. But the best answer for you would be if you know someone that has a 175 txw and try it out and then make your decision on your next boat. but remember this to that the newer glass boats will ride better then your current boat will because most all are going to be wider.
