It is like that because it shows what is on the left and right side of the transducer. If the display was turned 90 degrees right would you do a head stand to figure out what the left side is showing?

Well to me it would look correct. I did it here now the surface is on top where it should be where on display surface seems to be on the left.. Arrow points in direction out from me.

Really cool to see what the screen is telling you, now if I could only afford one for my jon boat, wait if I could afford one I guess I would'nt have a jon boat.

Wow. That's awesome. Now if I could borrow those guys for a day at my reservoir to show me what my el cheapo Garmin fish finder screen translates into down below, that'd be great!
