Hard Swim Baits

Featured Replies

Our Acadamey is opennig in 3 days. I know h20 sells their house brand hard swimbaits. They have a gill pattern that i know will slay bass in my neck.. I have a 6'6 spinning for small swimbaits like swimmin flukes and skinny dippers, but i figure these need more umph in the rod. Will my crankbait rod work? i beleive these are only 1/2 oz baits. I highly doub these will become my main stay for fishing so it wouldnt serve me to buy a rod for this.

thanks

Think of those small swimbaits as oversized crankbaits, shouldn't be a problem. If you step up into larger swimbaits starting in the 1-1/2 oz plus range into then you might be looking at more specialized tackle to present those baits.

i use my crankbait rod on occasion to throw swimbaits. But most of the time i use my Skeet swimbait rod. If the swimbait im throwing gets over 1.5 ounces, i use my Veritas flipping stick with 50lb power pro.
