Looking For A Report

Featured Replies

Just moved to Ga, headed to Clark hill to get the boat wet, any good tips or reports to be shared about the lake or anything?

I haven't been out there in a couple of weeks but I hear the bass are starting to move up. But two weeks ago they were spending the day at 50ft deep so "moving up" could mean anything. You can always find schooling bass on long points at the mouth of most major creeks. Concentrate on main lake stuff and the first third of the creeks and you should be able to find something.

Oh and be very careful. The lake is 10 ft low and there is a lot of unmarked humps that are just below the surface. Even out in the middle of the lake. If you have a GPS with Navionics pay close attention to it. If the water in front of you looks red it's not muddy, it's the bottom.

Wow, thanks a million for the info, especially about the lake level. I am over on the East side of the state around these rivers, but plan on heading there very soon to do some good lake fishing. Not liking this Savannah river fishing at all!!!!

Yea, the Savannah is a tough place to fish and it's in my back yard. I live about 15 min from Clarks Hill. I try to fish it twice a week if I don't have anything else going on. It's a great lake but a very tough nut to crack if you aren't use to lakes with blueback herring in them.

Well, I am not use to them. I will be heading out there in the next few weeks to see it, gotta be more enjoyable than the Rivers. Hopefully they have moved up by the time I get there, I can fish the 50 foot waters but prefer power fishing much more in much shallower waters.
