Is there any differences between the curado 50e series made in 2010, 2011, and 2012? I've read of a palm rest issue of there being a notch that pushes into the palm in versions besides the 2012 manufactured reel. Is this true and if so, should I only look for the 2012 version?

I've attached 2 pics of my 50e, it's an older model. The only notch I can see is on the handle side, above the spool tension knob. It doesn't push into my palm, it's pretty comfortable to hold onto.

If you can see that notch sticking out on the bottom right. Does yours have that notch and is it in the way?

That notch is the anchor for the open pivot point of the sideplate. The sideplate doesnt actually come detatched it is still connected when opened,,just swings out of the way, and the notch is where it stays connected to the reel- spring loaded.

My mistake thought you meant something on top.

Mine is just like in that picture, so yes it does have the little notch, but it doesnt bother me, or stick into my palm. Maybe I just dont notice it!

Arent 50E's all the same?

The 2012 G series doesnt have a 50 size so if you are seeing a curodo without the notch its not a 50E.

You should not be worried about the notch, the 50e is pretty much comfy in the palm.

Ok so I should not be worried about the manufacture year when going to purchase a 50e? I am asking because I can get a 2011 manufactured pretty reasonable at the moment and didn't want to have any issues.

I have 3 of them. No problems what-so-ever!

I never gave the notch a notice til you mentioned it even had to go look for it to see what you meant. At first thought the picture was showing the end of the reelseat. Not an issue for me at all.

Ok thank you guys for clearing that up. I will go ahead and not worry about it then.
