Be sure to make your rules VERY clear and make sure you go over them and everyone understands them, ask your members for their input also, you can check ours out, feel free to copy them and use any of them if you would like.

As a former club president here are some tips. Have a round table discussion with future club members on what goals you want, ie tournament style fishing or just a bunch of people together for a good time. Some states (Maine) you have to get lake permits to hold tournaments. Are you going to be affiliated with the like of B.A.S.S or A.B.A for tournament trails. Non profit status with your state. As a earlier person answered "RULES" and stick with them. Believe it or not make a name that is not trade marked. It all sounds like a big headaches but proper planning will save you further down the road.
