OK, Ive decided Im going to get the Abu Veritas rod for my Chronarch 50E setup. Here are my plans, 40# braid to throw soft plastic frogs along the top of the water, and soft plastic swim baits just below the surface. Will be used in moderate/heavy/no cover. My Vendetta is pretty stout for a M 7' rod, and works well with my Curado 50E and 12# YoZuri on it for similar use. So should I get a M power Veritas as well or bump it up to the MH? I want 7', and what action should I get? For those of you that have them, give me some suggestions. Thanks guys.

I have a 7' mh and it is stout. A lot like most companies H. I use mine for a jig rod. Has little tip action which is fine for what I use it for. If u are going to be fishing in the slop I would get the mh. Will be a lot easier to horse fish with.

If your not going to fish some really heavy cover, get the M. If you are going to be in some REALLY heavy pads, and veg then the MH. A friend of mine has the MH, and I think it's a bit too stiff for hollow frogs.

the MH is definitely pretty stiff. the tip seems like its slightly leaning towards XF on my fast action as well. I throw c-rigs and 1/2-3/4 ounce jigs with it mostly, hope that helps.

I went with the heavy. I bought the medium 7' first and it felt too light for 4-5 inch swimbaits. The MH just didn't feel as stiff as I wanted. I can use my 7' H for 1/4-1/2 jigs and 5" swims with 1/8 oz weights with ease.

I went mh/f. I don't think it's nearly as stiff as my mh vendetta.

If your fishing treble baits, a light rod is better to absorb the pulls as to not pull out the hooks with fighting the fish, I would go the M route.

If you're using this set up solely for cranks, the Veritas comes in the Winch series which is designed for crankbaits. It has a slower action so you don't rip the trebles out of the fish's mouth. I haven't used the Winch series but I've only heard good things from those that do use them.

I've got the 7'6" MH winch and its a joy for cranks. Tip has plenty of give as to not pull the hooks out.

I am going to eventually buy a 7' M Winch to make it a top water rod. You can load the lightest popr and zing it a mile.

Lol lol lol I looked them up last night, only place I know locally that carries Abu is Cabellas, 2hr drive... If not this weekend maybe next I'll take a ride up to check em out. They run about $100 I could grab a Croix from my local shop for $120. Sooooo idk. Don't wanna jack the thread anymore than I have to lol

I used to feel the same way about micro guides until I got the Bu Coo's.... I defiantly notice a difference in accuracy and distance, and a leader is no issue as I had thought.

I dont know about the Falcon micros, but the Abus have issues.

A few advantages IMO, but you're right. They have tons more QC problems that regular guides. I learned first hand that micro guide rods, at least in the Veritas' case, can't be ordered online. You have to physically inspect the guides yourself if you want a quality one.
