I'm pretty sure that's a custom painted bait and the white you see is the paint flaking off.

are you sure its not this one? russ talked to Kriet on the way home from the classic, said he painted a red colored one a different shade of red? was it this one?

I stand corrected.  That looks like it to me.

Kriet and Bass Dozer both said it was custom painted in Rayburn Red..

so rayburn red is more of a craw pattern

than just a different shade of red?

Yea. I think the biggest difference is the orange belly line.

In the words of Alton Jones on a recent episode of Classic Patterns, Rayburn Red is more of a burnt orange than a red.
