Arkansas To Hire Wisconsin's Bielema

The Jury is still out on this hire.....Good for Wisconsin, but is he gonna make it in the SEC?

Jeff

I love it. Think he will fit great and has a great oppurtinty to be something special. The only thing I'm a little down about is loosing our "high powered offense". I know he just hung 70 on Nebraska this weekend but it was in a totally different style. But in the end if he wins I don't really give a crap how he puts points on the board. A w is a w.

I was hoping for the Boise State guy, but this isn't a bad hire. But is he good enough to lead the Hawgs to a national title? I think he can make AR good, but great? We should start seeing some big ol O-linemen being recruited to come to Arkansas.

I wasn't a big fan of Bielema when he was here. I am not too keen on his recruiting, and I am one of the people who does not believe he can win the big games.

Best of luck to the 'backs. B)

Rumor has it Barry Alvarez to coach WI in the Rose Bowl.

They just had the press conference and he said that Alvarez would coach.

Overall I was impressed. He had a very commanding demeanor about him. Think he will do good.

I thought I was the only one that thought that. I was just looking his bowl record. The two bowls he did win. He won both by less the 6 points. Also when I was looking at that. His first bowl game in 07. He played against his new team.

Coach Bielema brings midwest recruiting to the SEC which the SEC does not have. This will be interesting getting players from the upper midwest.

He also brings that fast pace football that drives Satan nuts.

Add this guy to the list of Satan and Miles and we have more Big 10 flavor in the SEC and less Big 10 flavor in the Big 10! Flavor from Duffy, Bo and Woody. Three yards and a cloud of dust!

There are a lot of new coaches in the SEC for next year and they bring a lot of experience. The problem is someone must loose a ball game every time someone else wins a game. Some of these coaches are going to loose, however an SEC game is going to be even toughter to win. The easy game just is not going to be there like in the past. Look at Vanderbuilt now, and Kentucky may not be a pushover either...............If you have a good record in this conference you have earned some recognition..........GO VOLS.............Al

Of the four new SEC coaches, here is the ranking as discussed on Sirius radio:

Best Hire - Arkansas

Unknown - Kentucky

Interesting - Auburn

Why? - Tennessee

They said Arkansas will recover the fastest followed by Kentucky. But Stoops has no head coaching record so that may be a problem.

Auburn has had some outstanding recruiting classes. It will be interesting to see if Auburn can use their recruiting success on the field of play for more wins.

Tennessee - Many problems on and off the field. But once Jones gets settled in he may be able to turn the Vol program around to the level expected and enjoyed in the past by the fans.

Should be another wild and crazy football season next year, lead by Bamasux, Florida, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas A&M.

Arkansas hired as offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and o line coach Sam Pitman from Tennessee. Pitman has a very good rep as a players coach and had a very good o line at Tennessee. Jim Chaney did a good job with the offense at Tn. They could score at will with the right QB/receivers. Both should be a plus for Arkansas. Not sure about their recruiting abilities.........................Al
