Kistler Klx Vs. Dobyns Champion

Featured Replies

I'm debating on getting a dobyns champion flipping rod or a kistler klx. I know dobyns are very good rods because I have one but the kistler sounds pretty good. The rods are going to be used to flip and pitch the California delta, I'd like to hear some reviews on each.

What other setups do you have? If you have 3 or 4 other rods then I would say sure go with a dedicated flipping and pitching rod. By that I mean the dobyns line 765FLIP 766FLIP and 805FLIP /punch. If you are like me and want to be able to flip /pitch and throw a frog or even a texas rig go with the dobyns 735c. I have that rod sitting right in front of me and I cannot think of a better rod for the price. Also it is a full grip which i am a fan of.

I have an Allstar gt40x I use to punch, and 2 dobyns champion spinning rods both 702s, a shimano crucial dropshot, cabelas pro guide, st croix avid, and about 15 others, so I'm looking for a flipping specific one, also does anyone know how the kistler klx compares to the zbone, I may go with a zbone along with a dobyns if its a good rod. I'm probably looking at the. 765flip

I've sure been curious about those klxes!  Seem like a great rod!

If you get one please post a review.

If you go the Dobyns route, stick with the 5-power rods. The 6-power is so stout that it really limits the versatility of the rod.
