Exactly what I thought when I just went to the link. It looks like ducket and veritas had a baby.

I guess someone at BPS actually reads the reviews. The previous version of the Bionic Blade received a lot of negative reviews due to BPS' decision to switch from a full cork grip to a foam split-grip and the aluminum nut on the reel seat. I see they have now divided the BB into two different lines: standard (with full cork grips) and micro (with foam split grips). Smart move.

I was wondering because the catalog showed the cork version. I prefer last years look to the cork/Burgundy coloring combo. I see the reel matches the micro rod

I'm sure that was intentional. There are a lot of folks who won't (or can't) shell out $100 for a rod. The new BB Micro will let them have the same look, at a much lower price.

The new Bionic reel is white. Also, the new Bionic has an aluminum frame. The old one didn't.

Hmmmm.....was just looking at this rod on the site. Would look good with a ChronarchE sitting on it, lol. Then again, anything looks good with a Shimano sitting on it, haha.
