Can Plastics Mold Together?

Featured Replies

Hello forum, can soft plastic baits mold together when all mushed in a bag?

  • Super User

Never happened to me. I can see it possibly happening if stored under extreme heat, but it doesn't sound likely under normal storage conditions.

if you store elaztech plastics with regular plastics you will have a mess to clean up, other wise the melting point nis pretty high on most platisols.

I've experienced soft baits dying each other, but not melting together. As a matter of fact, I usually store white soft plastics in the same bag with some red ones. It gives them a 'bleeding' look that seems to work well for me.

Don't mix elaztech baits with other plastics. Other than that you're good.

If the baits could mold together easily, companies wouldn't put 10 of them in a small bag.

i had a worm and a hula popper skirt melt together before and it makes a mess! this has only happened once and i don't know why, maybe a reaction between the plastics or something, i have also had many lures dye each other before, mostly with red and white lures though.

its possible. i had some random worms and flukes and craws i cut off still on the hook and threw in my tackle bag when i was done fishing for the day. they melted together, they melted into the plastic of a small flashlight and melted into some of those variety pack sinker cases...lesson learned for me
