13 Fishing Casting Rod Power Ratings

Featured Replies

I'm looking at purchasing 3 different *** *** Black casting rods (2 M and 1 MH in different lengths) and was wondering if anyone who has used their rods has some feedback on their power ratings? All the reviews I've read of the *** series have been very positive given it's price point. But I want to make sure I don't get something under or over-powered because I have to order them online and won't be able to get any hands-on time with them until they're purchased.

Thanks!

That's why there are some rods I can't have.  I am phobic about buying a fishing rod without touching it and I won't do it.

I have the 7'1 MH ***, it feels like a medium heavy maybe a tiny bit stiffer.   I bought it to use frogs and jigs with so it will probably be great for that.  The medium ones would probably be perfect for cranks

For the most part, *** rods are dead on for their powers.  I'm undecided as to the overall quality of their rods.  Of what I've had experience with they've been reasonable, and not out of the ordinary in comparison.  They're a touch heavy, but pretty good.  I dislike their reel seat, and the guides are a bit goofy.  Their warranty is the sole thing that will keep me from purchasing one of their rods.
