Champlain Inflatable Tips?

Featured Replies

So I am moving back to Vermont till the end of the summer then back to Florida and I have my inflatable boat with trolling motor. I was wondering if anybody had any tips of what some good spots would be? I know being in an inflatable on Champlain is another story. I had some great spring time and spawn success at my local lake "Lake Arrowhead" but it gets real weird after that bite. Was hoping to get out on Champlain a few times this summer!

103 views and no opinions on where I could fish and inflatable with electric motor?

Jellyman you better be in a sheltered area....Shelburne Bay, Otter Creek, The Slang at little Otter Creek, or maybe inside the Gut. By all means, be careful and pick your weather wisely.

This is what I figured. I was hoping somebody knew some good spots. I might give Mallets Bay a try.

Well if you're gonna go to Mallett's then you might try the right side of the opening to the big bay...there is a rocky point with some weeds that has held a lot of fish for me in the past. If you go in the spring then you might find a few spawners in the shallow back section. I only fished it once and it was a long time ago.

Thanks a ton. I'll give it a shot! I want to experience Champlain while I have the chance. Arrowhead last year was pretty epic during the spring and spawn. I did probably 90+ lbs over the season. It then quickly got difficult and quirky. Turned into a real mission to locate bass.

If you pick your days and spots St Albans bay has a lot of options I use the kayak from the pier in the bay, the boat launch, and ether side of kilkare.

It is great fishing all year and you can find a spot in most wind.

Put in at the St albans bay fishing pier and work the wreaks near shore and maybe get over to where mill river enters. Fairfield pond is close to you and way less windy. Otter creek is also good. Don't forget wading the laplatte river!
