Early Spring Trophy Country?

A buddy and I are fishing Trophy Country, MO in the middle of March.  Taking a big chance on the weather but it's the only time we both could schedule a trip together. 

I do see that a lot of people on here have made trips to TC.  This will be our first.  Any suggestions for fishing these strip mines in early spring conditions?
