Bad Day On Lake Gaston

The guys in my bass club had a very hard time on Lake Gaston today.

One motor's fuel separater froze; the well pump on a Ranger failed; a motor quit on another Ranger; white caps with 25 to 30 MPH winds; some of the trolling motor batteries went dead; the water was stained to dirty; water temperature fell three degrees from Saturday to 44*; only 10 of 18 guys caught anything; one guy went home at 2:30; winnning weight was 8 pounds with a 5 pounder as his big fish.

Of the 10 guys that caught bass, three caught three; one caught two; and the remaining six caught only one each.

I had to go to the office and complete three of five projects so I am glad I decided to pass on this tournament.

But I am cocked and loaded for Buggs in April!

So if anyone is planning on fishing Lake Gaston this week be sure to check the weather as a big snow storm is headed this way and next weekend may not be that much better with water quality and temperature.

Be safe out there.
