Looking For Advice On New Fish Finder

Featured Replies

Looking for a fish finder to put up front by my trolling motor. Currently have and old Eagle that came with the boat that I'll keep in the back. I would like to keep it around a $200 budget. I'm trying to figure out what is more important to me, color, down imaging, or gps. I see Lowrance has models that have the DSI, but then don't have traditional sonar, is that a big negative? Looking for what opinions/advise you guys might have.

Imaging is a function that takes movement to produce the picture-like images. That is the "Scan" part of the unit name.
If you like to just ride around looking at stuff, they are great. As far as a fishing tool, not so much.

It would make a good companion for your Eagle though.

So are you saying to not get too hung up on getting di or dsi?

Lowrance Mark 5 DSI at Cabelas for $199 right now! Great units!!
