Bandit 100 Similar To Standard Squarebills

Featured Replies

I asked this question on another Forum so I am looking for opinions here too.

Does anyone Fish the Bandit 100 Cranks around Standing Timber and Laydown?

Do they have the same characteristics as a standard Square Bill like the SK KVD's and other similar SB's as far as Deflection and less tendency to hang up in Wood?

What is different between the Bandit's and the Standard SB's?

The difference is the shape of the bill. Look at the rounded corners on the 100, then compare those to a square billed bait. The sharper corners of the squarebills are designed to deflect off of wood, making them a little less prone to getting hung and provoking strikes when they dart to the side. They also sit at a little steeper angle that keeps the hooks away from trouble.

I am a big fan of 100 series Bandits. I have caught some very nice fish on them around wood and rock. They are a little more likely to get hung in wood, but they don't run too deep and you can usually get them back with a little work. Have fun.

Yeah love the 100's and agree with the post above 100%. The 100's run down to 5' which is a foot or two deeper than most all square bills. The Bandits come in a nice variety of colors too, the green chart blue back is a favorite of my son. I love the purple tiger in the morning.

I fish both the Bandit and Bomber square bills. There are differences in sound, body shape, bouyancy etc.  as with most companies, there are big similarities and small differences.  If you are confident in a particular brand, the only reason to try something else is if it give the fish something different.  I'm not big on subtle color differences, so I stick with those two brands.
