Tackle box

Featured Replies

I've been looking into getting a new tackle box lately and can't decide. I've been looking at a Plano Softsider 4470 and Plano Chill Bag. I was wondering how many of the 3700 Stowaway boxes the 4470 can hold and any of your guys preferences on these or other similar bags/boxes. Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks

Chase

The best thing to do for yourself is go to tackle store, bass pro, cabelas, or whatever is near you and just look at bags and see what boxes and how many fit, and then decide what fits your needs best.

my suggestion is get the largest one you can afford. I bought  a Browning 360 backpack. It's great, but pretty small. Then I bought another little bag to hold another 2 or 3 360 size boxes. They both filled up. I finally got a Cabelas 3700 tackle bag that can hold enough for a trip. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0060415123799a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=tackle+bag&Ntk=Products&sort=all&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1

Works pretty well, but I enjoy the comfort of the smaller backpack.  I have heard that the BPS XPS Stalker bag is amazing. It has straps to be carried as a bag, or as a backpack. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10200524____SearchResults

yea, I wish I grabbed that Stalker bag. Its on sale now, too!!

the plano 4470 holds 3 3700 size, and the chill box hold 2 3600 size. I suggest you spend the extra $13 on the Stalker bag.

Browning 370 backpack

Holds 6 boxes and has 4 LARGE external pouches for cameras, pliers, scales, extra equipment, with a 5th pouch on top.

I would buy another one in a heartbeat.  Its large, very comfortable, and easy to handle.
