High-Vis Line And A Marker?

Featured Replies

I saw a pro on one of the numerous fishing shows aired over the last few years spool up some high vis yellow line then take a magic marker or some type and color the line from the hook about the length of the rod.

He said this allows you to see the line at the surface and creates low visibility near your bait.

Anyone ever try this? Seemed like a smart idea for watching your line run.

I do the same thing with a shapie and while i am not sure if it has helped or hurt my catch rate it makes me feel better so i go with it.  I did just switch away from hi-vis lines this year so we will see how that goes and if i switch back or not.

Apparently not too many people do this. Makes me wonder...

I also use a hi-vis and a sharpie

Black sharpie? Can you tell any difference in the number of fish you catch with high vis versus low vis?

Hum, let me put it like this, I'm a line watcher and I can see the bright colors better. The sharpie gives me more confidence... I have had days I got snagged and had to break or cut the line and didn't have a sharpie with me it seems that I wouldn't get as many bites
