Farm Pond Fishing

Featured Replies

I had planted some Hybrid water lilies over the weekend want to make sure they hadn't floated away and how they were doing, I guess they are surviving, they are still there might just take a few more days to get adjusted to there new home.

So of course I had to bring my fishing pole and make a few casts! Pond is still muddy but starting to clear up around edges since thats where we threw in the gypsum but its getting there, good improvement since Saturday!

Started throwing a white caffeine shad since thats what I caught them on last time, no luck. Put on a black/chart square bill still no luck. Finally decided to pitch a Junebug Ugly Otter havn't had much luck with blues but since its muddy water i know its supposed to be good color so i tie that bad boy on and start pitching trees and brush finally get a nibble missed him, so i throw in some more light brush tap tap got ya! Make a few more casts and grab one more hungry guy.

By then the sun is almost down and since i rushed out the door i didnt grab a jacket and was getting pretty chili so i called it a day and headed home. Here are a few pics, nothing huge but still fun to catch!

Nice. Did you plant the vegetation when it was a brand new pond or just when it was at low pool?
