I am looking for a drop shotting rod. Is this one a good rod for the reasonable price?

Yes. Although the Crucial's are much nicer if you can afford it.

I know the crucials are good drop shot rods. Actually, the old cork grip crucials I prefer, but ive heard great things about the new version too. Id say save up and get the crucial. The sensitivity added will be worth it.

Ya i have a crucial casting rod and its pretty dang sensitive. I would also save up and get the crucial. But if you only have $100 to spend, take a look at the *** *** black 7'1ML rod. It would be a lot better bang for your buck than the compre would.

I was in the market for a shakyhead rod a few months ago and had settled on the crucial 7'1" ML/F but I wound up getting the 7'2" M/F compre because it seemed like it has a little more backbone, and was 50 bucks cheaper. As it turns out I'm actually going to use it as my drop shot rod as well. Its very sensitive and has a really nice tip. So yes I think this rod would be a good choice for you.
