Cold Pond Water Bass Fishing.

Featured Replies

I am having troubel catching bass in a 3-4 acre pond and the air temperature is averaging about 40-50 degrees. I have tried power bait, a rubber worn with a double tail, and a line with 2 hooks on it with power eggs on it. I usually just let all the baits i use sit and i check them every 10-15 minutes to see if my bait is still atached. Any sudjested bait or technique to use?

Hmmmm. Plastics, crank baits, and even topwater has produced bass in ponds for me already this year. I'm not sure what you've got going on there with those baits/methods.

Bass are visual predators....move your bait as naturally as you can to entice the bass into biting....my rule of thumb is the colder the water, the slower I work the bait.

Small shallow ponds warm up quick on a sunny day and fish usually turn on.

Try a senko, suspending jerkbait, light jig, worm  etc.

Move the bait but slowly.
