I'm new to the Fred, VA area (been here about 2 weeks) and I'm looking for places to get after some bass. Has anyone fished Mott's or Hunting Run res. since they opened this year? I'm relegated to bank fishing since I sold my jon boat before moving out here. Any suggestions/comments/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to get out somewhere this evening to fish. Thanks in advance!

Depending on where you live there are alot of ponds that can yield some pretty big fish. Especially if you are relegated to the bank. Also the reserviors have boats available for rental at a decent price.

Thanks, I've seen a lot of ponds on google maps but not sure how many are public or private. I'm off of Hwy 3 and Kennedy Ln so if by chance you know of anything this way I would gladly take the advice.

Ni Res is also a public lake near Fredericksburg-it shares permits with Hunting Run.

 

I fish Hunting Run a lot, but haven't been there this year yet. Been too busy chasing BIG ones at other waters farther South.

Typically duing this period, those lakes are not open for fishing during weekdays.

Call the Fredericksburg Parks and rec. to find out before you go.

Multiple is correct. and are not rumors. I'm not aware of the "taken out of" part though. CPR (Catch, Photograph, Release)

I didn't mean kept....poor choice of words on my part. I am planning on heading out there next Saturday myself.....maybe I will get lucky lol
