Here Is How You Fish Florida Lakes - For The Newbie And The Rest Of Us

Last night I watched the Major League Fishing webisode from day one at Istokpoga.  That 2.5 hours is exactly how, where, when and why for Florida fishing.  It is exactly how I have fished for a decade now and even I learned several things.

If you don't care for the format - does not matter

And yes, Ish is annoying

But it is the most descriptive and concise education you will ever get.  I can't wait for the next episode.

Amen....I really enjoyed that episode. Lookinv forward to the next.

I watched it twice on the Outdoors channel. Love seeing how the pros fish the same areas we do.

I have to watch that what day and time?

I fish Ista next month.

Can these episode be watched in their entirety on line?

I checked Outdoor Channel website and its just bits and pieces.

I dont think DT gets the Outdoor Channel

I was up there last year when some of that show was being done. The Lake was in great condition-good water levels, scattered grass and hydrilla and clean. This past weekend, one of my clubs had its two day and it was a far different picture. Water is down about a foot limiting access to some good areas, water was stained to dirty and the grass and mats just seemed to disappear. I know there have been some great T's up there recently despite all this. I am looking forward to seeing the show.

Major League Fishing period com

The first episode is free.  The rest are about 3 dollars each or 15 for all seven.  This episode the zone they are fishing is the North West section.  Ish was fishing in the Henderson canal for a little while. Everything they fished was water that Tommy and I fished last month.  They caught more fish but it was filmed in the fall.  They were not fishing the worst cold front of the year in 30 degree air temps and 30 mph winds.

I can't wait for them to fish the SW section.  Beautiful cypress in 5 ft of water and I have never boated a fish out of there.

There are a llot of crappie and gills in that corner, but not a lot of bass.

I heard like mentioned above its low, that lake is a bear when it drops, especially now with no hydrila.

Assuming all the hydrillas gone, thats what I was told.

Havent been there.

Thanks Lee i found and watched it, your right, thats the kind of fishing show I will watch.

George, you are so right. I'm always drawn to that area like a moth to a lightbulb and have never really caught much if anything there.
