They have a high pitch single BB rattle. They are a well thought out lure that does make it a little easier to get into places and they do catch fish.

I highly recommend this bait. Last summer I was fishing and found one on the bank. It looked new, so I tied it on and started catching fish left and right. It seems to be more effective for smallies to me, but I've caught a lot of largemouths on it as well.

timber tigers are probably one of the most thought-out designs in crankbaits. the designer, tom seward, also designed the luhr-jensen speed trap. the timber tiger is actually supposed to be a better speed trap but speed traps continue to significantly outsell timber tigers. anyway, a great lure...i just wish they were a little smaller in size.

Timber Tigers are good baits. You can throw them into gnarly stuff and be reasonably certain that they will come back.  They are my first choice of crank to throw around wood.
