Bagley Spin Tail - How Do You Use These?

I have a couple of these lures and I've not caught any bass on them.  I don't know if I'm using correctly or what.

If you own this lure, how are you you using them and have you caught fish on them.

I have several.  I normally fish them where I would a rapala floating minnow. I give it a semi-aggressive slashing twitch which drives the bait under a few inches and making the tail gurgle as it goes under.  My best areas are outside weed lines or parallel to cattail rushes.

I've been using this jerkbait since the early 70's and have most of my success in the summer months fishing it around any type of vegetation early and late in the day. I can assure you it does work.

When they came back I bought a bunch in the regular bang-o-lure and the spin tail. The way you fish them is look for shallow gravel or weed flats, make a long cast and let it sit for 2 or 3 seconds and then jerk-jerk-jerk pause for 2 seconds and repeat, after  3 of those series stop it and let it float back and leave it there for 5 seconds or so and then back to jerknig it.  I find the best time to use them is post spawn, they will work prespawn but other lures will work better. I nail smallies on these in the river, and when they don't want the bang-o-lure I'll go with the shallow diving rogue, but they work and work well, especially for big fish.
