Opening Day!

Featured Replies

Today was opening day of Catch and Release Bass Season here in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan (The real season doesn't open until May 25, stupid.... I know.) I went out on the kayaks with my dad for a 4 hour trip and had good results  I caught four decent bass with the biggest being 3.5 lbs. He got one carp, one pike, and one bass. I took all of mine on a Rapala DT3 Flat while his were on a Spro Little John. The flat-sided crankbaits were key as these fish were just moving up into the shallows. The water temperature was 55 while the air temperature was 65. It was a perfect day to be on the water and it is great to be fishing again.
