I've started fishing with Suffix Elite and Siege this year and so far it casts and handles great. I was using 15# PLine CXX for my Huddleston 6" trout but now I'm trying the Siege 14# ...It's open water swimbaiting for smallies in a particular lake that we fish so no need for super heavy line. 

 

My question is , does Suffix Siege seem to have more stretch?

 

I feel like I lost a couple last time for no other reason I can explain.It is possible that all of the jumps the fish made caused it to come loose but I also lost one on an Osprey line thru bait with a treble hook...

Of course there is always operator error but lets pretend my skills aren't in question for once....

I've fished them both in 6# and the siege does have more stretch than cxx but handles much better.

I now use cxx as leader material.

Just kidding.  You are right to make this statement because there are bound to be a couple willing to point to you as the problem even tho they probably won't have any experience comparing the 2 lines.  Regarding that subject, I can't be of any help.  I've used Elite and Siege, but not CXX although I have used P-Line CX in 8# on a couple spinning reels.  I like the Sufix line better.

Well thanks anyway...I thought I'd go ahead and call myself out indirectly so I wouldn't have to listen to the peanut gallery Just hoping to get some opinions on the line itself  

While it is early in our fishing season this year I have been running suffix mono this year on two setups for topwater and bigger jerkbaits. Have caught a few fish on it but haven't tested it enough to call it any more stretchy than Trilene XL, my standard for mono. Early impressions are the line casts well, knots are strong and clean, and the line is incredibly strong.

Thanks for the replies. I have been impressed with Suffix for sure. Casts great! I'm going to keep the 14# mono for my Friday trip and see how it goes this time. If my results are the same as far as boating/losing fish I may go back to CXX and see if that's where the problem is and if not I guess I'll know I just need to pull my head of out my a$$~ Thanks guys!

cxx has less stretch than about everything but braid. its one of the lowest stretching, strongest AND worst handling lines out there. pick your poison lol
