First off let me say, I have used the "search option", and I have scrolled back about 10 pages. Please be kind even though I didn't find what I was looking for.

    I just don't get much swimming action on them,and I know some of you have had good success with swimming sencos. My question is what hooks do you use to get a decent action on these baits. I'm fishing them on 8lb mono and #6 yo zuri-soft. Most of the places I will use them is 2' to 5' deep and lots of wood.

I texas rig them, and it really shouldn't take much movement to get the tail moving... are you using the real ones, or a cheap knock off?

I use a 3/0 or a 4/0 gammy superline ewg on swimmin senkos.  I fish them a bunch and have never had an issue using those hooks.   Either those, or a 4/0 Owner XXX straight shank if thats what I've got tied on at the time.  I just throw them on my normal t-rig rod.  Crank them back, bounce them, twitch, etc etc.  They're a really versatile bait.  Gary Yamamoto recommends using a florida rig weight on them.  I've done that and had succes, but I prefer to just use a pegged weight on mine.

Thank you for the replies. I have been using a 4/0 weighted gammy EWG hook. Maybe that's why I don't see much swim action, or perhaps they just don't wobble like a hollow body swim bait.

Well, they really don't.  It's not a swimbait per-se.  You can use it as a swimbait, but don't expect the full body wobble like with a hollow belly.  Theres a lot of action in the tail with a gentle shake at the head of the bait.

i peg them with 1/16 oz. bullet weights, or 1/8 oz ones depending on desired depth.http://www.***.com/Gambler_Screw_In_Florida_Rig_Weights/descpage-GSF.html try that over the weighted hooks, it works really well for me. i would also try a hook with a thinner wire gauge than the superlines.

try a skinny dipper w/ a 5/0 weighted hook. You'll never look back.
