I change lures A LOT. Right now I have a 5inch steel leader on due to the pike and I like keeping my lures. But when A fish hits, the clip slides around the been up the wire and is caught on the blades. I haven't lost a fish yet, but my baits get bent to heck. is there anything i can put around the bend that will keep the clip from sliding up the bait? or will i just have to tie on another spinnerbait every time i wanna change

Try these two suggestions to see if they will work. I do this with spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and I have no trouble with the snaps.

1.  Take the wire twist from a loaf of bread and remove the paper and wind it around the spinnerbait end where you place the snap.

2.  Purchase a 1/8 inch rubber fuel line and cut it into a size to slip over the area where you place the snap allowing a small opening so the snap will  move a little when attached to the spinnerbait.

The snap will not be impaired and it will not move very much within the area.

Maybe these suggestions will stop the snap from turning and the leader getting into the hooks.

I use a yellow 1/8 inch rubber tube from the shop that works on my riding mower. Cost me $2 per foot and it is well worth the investment.
