Welcome to BassResource.  As a beginning fisherman, I would urge you to read the articles posted here...

There is a LOT of information on choosing the right rod and reel.

Best starter rod&reel combo for under a $100?  Abu Garcia Black Max Combo. Either a Medum Action 6'6" or Medium Heavy Action 7'. Looking at less than $90. Wal-mart or Gander Mtn. Pair it up with 10-12lb mono and you've got yourself a good starter set-up. Better than you'd think.

I just got back into bass fishing again last year and needed to buy rods and reels. Also had to outfit the wife and son too.

I ended up with bass pro qualifier reels ....on sale for $79 and some very inexpensive rods ....9.99 to 15 average. I do have one that cost 39.99 I think. But found the cheaper rods at bass pro, Walmart and academy. Figured I would get 4 combos cheap and then buy the higher end stuff a little at a time. I still think I will upgrade the rods over time but will keeping using the bass pro reels. For now anyway. Like Mike said above.....just search and look around this site when you can.....a lot of info out here.

I like the Shimano Citica. If you can find a NIB Citica E that's even better but the G works fine.

Out of curiosity where are you from? Not many forum post ask for prices in euros.

Thanks Mike, your link is so helpful. I`ll have a look.

Thank you Crappiebasser for your specific advice. I`ll look for this reel information and also look for any shop where I live, that is Spain.

I have looked for Shimao Citica G 201. Its prize is 130€ It is a good prize.

What do you think about the Shimao CAENAN? It is a cheaper but I`m also looking for a long-lived reel. What do you think about it?

The Caenan is not a bad starter reel but I'd go for the Citica if you can get one. Citicard in the US can be had on EBay for less than $100 so that's only €77. I would look for an belayer here that will ship international.

Bps pro qualifier, dual braking system makes it very beginner user friendly

 Ok! I`ll search for it!
