Has anyone ever had luck using musky, saltwater, or lures designed for other species, to catch bass?

I like using a Mirrolure saltwater lure, both floating and sinking. I used to fish snook with these in Florida and on a hunch started using them for bass a couple years ago. It's something the fish haven't seen on our heavily pressured lakes here.
