Livewell On Canoe?

Featured Replies

Is this possible and if so, any direction's?

Get a 70qt cooler and set it lengthwise if it'll fit. You'll also need an aerator if you plan on the fish not dying within an hour.

should check out youtube for making a livewell out of a cooler

Keep the stability of your canoe in mind when you're planning this project. I'm not convinced an all day cooler ride is much easier on your catch than dragging them along over the gunnel on a stringer.

Get a 70qt cooler, add some kind of aquarium aerator to it, and you'll need a battery to power it. I looked into doing this on my yak, and it turned out to be too much crap to be worth it.

Just get a cheap aerator from WM and add a little ice to keep the water cool and the fish will come out more alive than they went in. Did it for years like that.

I did this and fish stay alive the entire time. I just make it a habit of pouring a little bit of cool lake water to keep the water at stable temps.
