Spit'n Image

Featured Replies

Anybody using the Heddon/Excaliber Spit'n Image?  I just picked some up for an alternative top-water presentation and could use some tips if anyone has any.

A very productive top water bait! Allows easy "walk-the-dog" action and profile. About the easiest I've ever worked this way. They are out of production now, so if you have a source....buy more!

Hint: great smallie bait, for use over deep, off-shore structures. Will draw them out the depths.  :)

I love the baits.  Always done quite well with them.

Love the full size, don't care much for the Jr.

Just work them any time you would a spook or sammy. I think the deep profile of the spittin' image does a better job at matching the hatch when fish are feeding on sunfish or shad.

yes, I like to walk it fast as possible over shallow weeds.

great bait, yanked one out of retirement bin ...

I absolutely love this lure and have had a lot of luck with it for both smallies and largemouths.  The smallies on the local river seem to really like this lure.  Simple twitches will allow it to walk and I let it sit for quite some time of calm days.  The explosions usually happen when the lure is sitting still.  Best of luck!
