Is anyone interested in joining us the last week of August 2013 ?

is your date set??? a friend and i am going, but on the weeked of Septembet 14-15. we cant move the date because Monday 16 is a Mexican holiday (we live in mexico), so, i take a day off work and have a total of 4 days off. we are driving and taking our boat.

i just answered your email, i hope we can work something out... this is our first trip to Oviachic, my uncle goes about twice a year and he always tells me stories about 150 fish in 2 days, which translate to maybe 80-100 from fisherman language to normal language without the BS, but anyways, its a 14 hour drive from here, and if he does it twice a year, i think its really worth giving it a try...

Maybe you could post some pics of your previous visits to lake Oviachic Lanz, to begin the expectation....

May be best to go to my gallery and check out the Bass and other fish their as most came from that general area ( plus it keeps telling me its to big to load )?!

supposedly you can catch fish in this lake ranging from 4 to 6 pounds all day long....

its easy, just go to the pic, right click on it, and select COPY IMAGE URL . 

 

then go to the post you want to paste the image on, and click on the Image icon, right under the TEXT COLOR and SMILEY face... click on the imge icon, and paste the URL, and thats all, the image will be inserted....

 This Catfish was caught below the Lake in the Yaqui Rio early am on shrimp , the Bass on spinner ! Lots of action and lots of fun

i was looking at your gallery, seems like you are ready to receive a couple of fishermen as you already have some "lending poles" ready... i may even ask you for a spinning rod to try one, as i have never fished with one and i would like to try one for shakey head...

Just back from our 8 day trip to Alvaro ! What a blast Here are some pictures of view from lodging , on Dique 10 Lake and some of the fish we caught ! Were looking forward to August And Septembers trips Love that air in lodging and hot shower after a long day of fighting all those Bass ! We were catching bass at 12:30 am , just could not get enough !

how many bass total did you get, and whats the average size??

Around 80 bass ( between the 6 of us) the average size I caught was 2 to 3 lbs , but others were getting some around 5 to 6 lbs and of course the rumors of even bigger  ones   I have posted others that we caught in my gallery you may want to check out !  We also took home 7 1/2 kilos of Tilapia !

i have never seen tilapia that big around here...

Update : Have not got much fishing in! A town on our way to Alvaro called Vicam has been blocking the only entrance to CD Orbegon from road , we were finally able after 12 hours wait to get to the Lake and the main road to where we load and unload had a mud with rock slide ! So yesterday we headed back to Santa Ana and waited 12 more hours at road block in rain storms , but made it home safely Hopefully things will work out better in Sept ?

That really sucks.  The rainy season is going on right now.  September should be better! Just have to give it a little time!  Glad you made it back home safe.
