Best Jig Color For Fl Summer?

Featured Replies

Hi Gang!

So the recent trend of near skunk experiences has me on the depressed side of things... all I catch lately are small 1lbs dinks! Now I did have that one great day when I pulled 5-6 fish all over 5lbs and one was pushing 10lbs! But since then it's been miserable for me down here in S.FL.

So I decided to do more jigging, I got some jigs in different colors as well as rage tail baby craw tails. Now I wonder what color to use... I have mixes of black and red, green and brown, black and blue. I rigged my rod for tomorrow with black/blue and dark blue/green tail, but am not sure if that's the right choice for my murky watered canals i'm fishing. the only bass i got on a jig was a small 1lbs'er on a green/brown jig with green tail.

Any suggestions as to the color selection? I'm really starting to hate this summer fishing thing and am thinking about calling up SirSnookALot for some ocean fishing :-)

HELP!!!

I get the most strikes on black and blue. Also I got this one that's brown, purple, an orange I get more fish with that one when it's really sunny and water clear. But I'm not a fan of the rage tail baby craws as much as I am the strike king KVD rodent (the bigger size IMO has way more action and allows the bass to key in on it, and bigger bait bigger fish even though dinks r inevitable).

I swung and missed again, it is part of summer. There will be good days with lots of bad in there.

Wait til the trop storm comes, look for the pressure drop a day or two out they will turn on. During the wind and rain they can still be on.

As far as color goes I dunno I don't fish jigs. I have had success on a kissimee blue gambler before in muddy windy conditions as well as clear water, it is a black/blue with green flake. Redshad or black red is always decent and then junebug. my pumpkin creatures do well too. Just keep at it. Good luck....to both of us!

I've heard that black and blue are the best.

Never had a bite on a jig, so I just quit using them.

I think that the fish in my area just don't like them.

I've tried various sizes, colors, trailers, and scents.

It depends on the color of the water.

Clear water I like pumpkins and watermelons, slightly stained Black and Blue.
