Would This Be A Good Combo For 3/16-1/4 Texas Rigs And Weightless Super Flukes

Featured Replies

I'm really planning on getting this combo for 3/16-1/4 texas rigs, weightless super flukes, and maybe some weightless senkos if I ever fish one again. It's an All Star Team rod 7' medium fast light worm rod and an Abu Silver Max. I just want a second opinion on it. What do y'all think?

Sounds good to me. I might go MH/F for the T-Rigs. That is what I am using to throw similar plastic, you can really drive home the hook in weeds on a long cast.

I have a 6'6 medium heavy I use for heavy weeds.

I am not sure but if you are saying the rod is medium light fast action rod then I would feel that the rod would be underpowered for plastics. At least step up to a medium fast action rod, or even a medium heavy. I once fished those exact baits on a 6'9 medium light casting rod. Couldn't set the hook worth a darn in over half of the bites I got. That rod is now a jerkbait and small topwater exclusive rod. I fish fluke and senkos on medium heavy rods as do I all my Texas rigged plastics. You would be surprised just how well a weightless senko and fluke cast on a medium heavy rod.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. It's a technique specific rod that is recommended for light worms. It's medium power and fast action.

I think it would be a good combo for your intended use.
