Fishing The Chick? Watch Out!

Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries conservation officers are at the end of Chickahominy River's Diascund Creek by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad bridge handing out tickets for throwing a wake within 50-feet of a boat dock.

The creek is narrow in that area and you cannot escape coming within 50-feet of anything on the bank. If you are using your outboard motor you will be throwing a wake no matter how slow you are going.

If you are fishing the Chick River and go into Diascund be sure to use your trolling motor when the creek starts to get narrow.

It is nice to see Game and Inland Fisheries law enforcement on the Chick but it is difficult to understand why they are hassling bass boats in a an area where you do not have any room to avoid getting within 50-feet of anything on the shoreline. I would hope they would enforce the laws with the jet skis and other recreation boaters that plague the river and its tributaries.

Just a word to the wise.

Sorry for the second post.

When I posted the thread the first time I received a message that I could not post and had to wait two minutes before I should try again.

Lucky for me I copied the original post so I executed the command again and now we have two of the same posts.

Would one of the mods please remove on or the other?

Thanks.
